About this site...

My name is Greg Karpoff. I'm a transplant to Baltimore, having grown up near Pittsburgh.

I find Baltimore visually fascinating. I've never lived in a city before. Living in town is fun and exciting; there are so many things to see and do, all within a convenient distance. But there are also downsides. The noise and congestion set me on edge, and the dirt and decay are disheartening.

I feel a vibrance and vitality here that I've not sensed in other places I've lived. Ugliness is present, yes, but so is beauty, both in subtle and overt ways. This blog is a visual record of some of the places that have caught my eye, and is a tribute to the city and its people.
